Land Surveyor – Bicester

As a Land Surveyor you will:
- travel to a variety of sites across the country to undertake surveys, collect data and set out works on behalf of DM and their clients, using Total Station, Laser Scanning, handheld GNSS, and Electromagnetic Location equipment
- take a proactive approach to processing survey data in line with departmental best practice
- produce maps and plans in support of a wide range of fast paced projects, on time and within budget to maintain company standard
- work in collaboration with the team, obtain, manage and analyse data from range of sources including the Land Registry, Ordnance Survey, Environment Agency, Local Authorities and Utility companies to best inform our advice and service to clients
- be responsible in the maintenance and calibration procedures of the survey equipment and organisational policies and requirements
- work independently on projects and requests, ensuring requirements and objectives are met, building positive relationships and taking ownership of the standard of work
- be commercially aware, maintain good records, including meeting notes, expense claims and comprehensive file updates and records of activities to provide regular client updates
- be able to accurately assess the time requirements of a job and be confident in advising clients and surveyors
- support the team and business development by communicating ideas for improvement
- assist the development of more junior members of staff by mentoring, providing feedback and participating in progress reviews where appropriate
- be proactive in engaging and communicating with other sectors to ensure Geomatics requests are completed efficiently
The successful candidate will:
- be confident communicating with stakeholders of all levels
- have great IT skills
- have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, be results-driven and a keen problem solver
- have the ability to manage a large amount of both quantitative and qualitative data
- have a RICS or TSA qualification (desirable but not essential)
- have a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site and project locations
