WHAT TO EXPECT
Due to our success. our Environmental Planning team is growing, and this is an exciting opportunity for Environmental and EIA consultants and Town Planners to support this developing and expanding business area. Project work will vary from high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK, through to local utilities schemes essential for local communities.
You will be joining a successful team, working as part of the Environmental Planning team and the wider business to develop this expertise further.
You will work with internal and external teams liaising with clients, Local Authority planning officers, and stakeholders on a wide range of utility and building development projects. You will input into development and design proposals, assisting with master planning and construction methodology and facilitating the delivery of medium / large scale infrastructure, renewable energy and new energy technologies.
You will offer advice on Environmental and Planning considerations and requirements across a range of sites and schemes with varying levels of Policy and Environmental sensitivities. You will be undertaking feasibility assessments as well as screening, scoping, planning and coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments, working with internal and external specialists and environmental stakeholders. In addition, you will be involved in the preparation and delivery of planning applications for a wide variety of infrastructure and development projects.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
You will hold a degree in an environmental and/or planning related discipline and possibly have studied and obtained an MSc in an Environmental Impact Assessment, planning or accredited course. You will be looking to obtain the necessary experience to allow you to ultimately become a chartered member of your professional institution such as IEMA or RTPI.
You may have graduated recently, or you may already have a number of years of relevant experience either within a consultancy, client or local government, ideally working on project delivery of utility and/or built development projects.
Familiarity with GIS systems and an understanding of environmental technical disciplines at a high level allowing you to coordinate and project manage their input into the delivery of the project would be desirable.
Full training will be provided so previous experience is not essential for the non-Senior role, however, a positive can-do attitude, enthusiasm and ability to learn is essential.
You will work as part of a team of specialists, and we value effective collaborative working is essential. You will also have great written and verbal communication skills to support collaborative working.
You will be office based but be expected to travel to meetings, client offices and inspect site works, therefore a full driving license is required.
