This year we are taking on 6 placement students from Harper for one year, to initiate them into the world of surveying. From day one, placement students will be given responsibility for their own projects, working closely with senior surveyors and graduates, and will be client-facing from early on in the program.
The experience that we can provide equips students to return to university in 4th year with the tools they need to apply what their lectures teach them to real life scenarios.
We also have a high conversion rate of placement students to Graduate Surveyors, so the career opportunities provided are clear!
Graduate Surveyor, Bea Hawker was our placement student for the 2016/17 academic year, and has just re-joined us on the Graduate Training Program, following graduation from Harper. She says:
“I really enjoyed my placement year. DM made sure I wasn’t just a ‘tea maker and photocopier’, but instead I had the chance to put my first two years of university into practice
It helped me a lot in my final year as I had experience I could relate to as well as understanding how to apply information into a working practice situation.
Coming back as a Graduate has been as though I never left! I have fallen straight back into the mix in the Bicester office and look forward to what I can achieve with Dalcour Maclaren."
