Since he started, Harry has had the full support of the Directors to progress his career and was the first member of staff to sit the RICS Assessment of Technical Competency (AssocRICS) which now makes up a huge part of our structured training programme for graduates.
Harry joined Dalcour Maclaren as a ‘general dogsbody’ (in his own words) in 2010 when the company was based from just one office down in Bicester.
With a varied background in agriculture, he was able to offer practical advice to clients and negotiate well with landowners from day one. He also made an excellent cup of tea and has been the source of entertainment for the rest of the team for 10 years now.
Since he started, Harry has had the full support of the Directors to progress his career and was the first member of staff to sit the RICS Assessment of Technical Competency (AssocRICS) which now makes up a huge part of our structured training programme for graduates.
In 2011 Harry, alongside Director Andrew Barker, opened the Cheshire branch of the business and relocated, taking with him a big step up in responsibilities in leading an office which now has 25 members of staff.
Since then Harry has been heavily involved in supporting the growth of the business, and quickly progressing up the ranks to lead major infrastructure projects all over the country.
To date Harry is still involved with the family farming business, whilst leading the Power sector team, as well as from a business development perspective, and is a great example of the ways that Dalcour Maclaren has invested in future talent from an early stage, to create a sustainable workforce for our clients.
“I wasn’t really sure why I applied to DM other than because the work interested me and it paid slightly better than milking, however fast-forward 10 years, from what started out as something to do for a while, I can see that this has been the best decision I ever made; and to be a part of the journey with DM, literally changing the face of the UK energy sector and sometimes being allowed to enact my crazy ideas with the support of the Exec is something that drives me to help the company do better every day.”
