TEAM 2100 Purfleet and Grays Project

TEAM 2100 Purfleet and Grays project is crucial to the Environment Agency’s flood risk strategy in the Thames Estuary. Our expert consultation and support ensured the project’s success in managing tidal flood risk effectively.

Dalcour Maclaren, appointed in March 2022, tackled key challenges:

  1. Access: Overcoming access hurdles at operational sites like container terminals and oil depots due to ground anchors.
  2. Site Compound: Identifying a suitable compound site, initially targeting a vacant spot owned by Thurrock Borough Council.
  3. Compensation Claims: Skillfully assessing and negotiating a substantial claim from the Local Authority.
Land Referencing at UK Airport

To boost a major UK Airport’s capacity, an unused runway was repurposed for efficiency and resilience. The client pursued a Development Consent Order (DCO) to secure planning permission for the works.

Our land referencing team facilitated this by:

  • Identifying 500+ Category 1&2 HMLR Land titles affected by the project and nearly 3,000 Category 3 titles
  • Mapping over 5,000 land parcels and uncovering 3,500 legal interests
  • Achieving a 30% response rate through a comprehensive Land Interest Questionnaire process
  • Conducting site visits to key landowners and installing notices on unregistered land
  • Utilising our CONNECT system for transparent progress reporting and collaboration with the project team
