Flood & coastal resilience
Delivering land acquisition, property advice, access rights, planning and stakeholder engagement to local authorities (LA) and UK-wide flood protection agencies
Our multi-disciplinary teams collaborate with clients and their consultants to integrate land strategy, valuation and complex compensation advice with infrastructure planning. We collaborate with organisations such as the Environment Agency and Natural Resource Wales, to advance major flood defence schemes and Local Authorities across the country to deliver localised flood protection.
Our clients benefit from having an integrated consultancy delivering all their land related needs including planning and land assembly resulting in more efficient contract procurement, communications, and delivery management creating one source of information.
A streamlined reporting structure strengths accountability and reduces risk. Without the need to engage with multiple consultants, our clients’ management time is reduced and their data is safer.
Our Environment & Planning team will support clients through project development and the subsequent stages of the consenting process, including planning permissions, environmental permits and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) works.

As we focus increasingly on climate adaptation and contribute to national discussions through the NCE Flood Resilience 2025 programme, DM remains committed to securing a sustainable future for local at-risk communities. With a collaborative, ONETEAM mindset, we ensure we engage with all stakeholders to bring communities along with projects are designed for their ultimate benefit, despite the temporary construction impact.
