Rail

Delivering tailored land strategies for existing rail assets and new rail infrastructure

Our services include land access and acquisition, liaison, planning, stakeholder engagement and boundary delineation and verification for existing rail assets and new rail infrastructure

Working for promoters, operators and contractors in the Rail sector, our experience spans the reinstatement of historic lines to supporting major national projects. Maintaining rigorous compliance standards, we have a track record of exceeding client expectations.

We have extensive experience delivering to Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors. Our reputation for derisking projects enables them to better manage and budget for their clients’ projects. Our knowledge management processes and ONETEAM mentality ensure that we bring lessons learnt from previous projects to benefit each new client.

All of our clients also benefit from a single procurement process to deliver Environment & Planning, Stakeholder Engagement, Land Surveying and Land Referencing in addition to Land & Property Services.

Our Environment & Planning team can deliver planning permission for supporting works, including EIA considerations and prior approvals for temporary structures.  We will also advise on environmental consents and permits. For example, flood risk activity permits and ordinary water course consents.

The ability to bring the DM values to rail projects is invaluable to meeting delivery targets for our clients. It ensures that we are continually seeking to find innovative solutions to challenges faced by our clients.

Sector-specific services

We ensure legal compliance and smooth operations. This helps avoid legal issues and ensures project progression.

Liaison services & HS2

Our Liaison services with HS2 has been considered exemplar. For example, how DM’s knowledge and experience has added value and authenticity when engaging with affected parties. Our accommodation works workflow was notable in that we engaged early, captured information in detail (spatially using GIS, feeding into our client’s digital twin platform). This enabled our client to assess the value and potential benefits of accommodation works for every affected party with the aim of mitigating both short and long-term losses.

Reinstatement of Dartmoor Line Reopening

  • Land referencing for 17 affected parcels
  • Negotiated temporary fencing rights with 18 landowners
  • Delivered licence agreements for more than 14km of fencing

DM has an impressive commitment to deliver their service right first time. The integration and collaboration within the HS2 Project have been key, unlocking doors to move the Project forward. It is a pleasure working with the DM Team.
