Land & Property Graduate Programme

Get the lowdown on launching your career with us

The programme in a nutshell

Build your future in land and property consultancy by working towards your professional RICS membership – while also contributing to landmark infrastructure and utilities projects that help the UK and Ireland transition to net zero.

During this 24-mth programme you’ll get to:

  • Choose between gaining your professional membership through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) via either the Chartered (MRICS) or Associate (AssocRICS) pathway.
  • Develop practical experience in land access, valuation and property work across real infrastructure and land projects.
  • Use data, surveys and mapping tools (including GIS and market information) to support informed decisions.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders, including clients, local authorities and landowners.
  • Contribute ideas to the wider Land and Property team, helping to enhance systems, processes and project deliver.

CHOOSE YOUR CAREER PATHWAY

With two career pathways to choose from – both fully funded by DM – you can turn your passions into a meaningful career:

Pathway 1

Want to shape the future of land and property, working on projects that create sustainable spaces and solve real-world challenges?

Chartered (MRICS – APC) RICS is for you.

Pathway 2

Interested in supporting infrastructure projects through land access, negotiation and working closely with landowners, clients and communities?

Associate (AssocRICS – ATC) RICS is the way to go.

Before joining, I was told by other graduates that you’re given a lot of responsibility early on at DM, which I initially thought might be a bit daunting. However, it’s been a really positive experience. Having that responsibility, along with great support from my team, has helped me develop both professionally and personally. If you’re motivated and willing to learn, you’ll get a lot out of your time at DM.

Liaising with landowners and the client on a large electric transmission project has been very rewarding and developed my career dramatically. My line manager has been beyond supportive, and I am regularly pushed to progress and further my knowledge.
